Palyul Changchub Dhargyayling Dallas is most fortunate this month to have
Khenpo Tenzin Norgay Rinpoche with us for two weekends of teachings
and a Vajrakilaya empowerment!

During this visit, Rinpoche will continue his ongoing series of teachings on Shantideva’s The Way of the Bodhisattva, a Shambhala Classic, by the Padmakara Translation Group. We will receive teachings this time on Chapters 4 – 7 for those who have the text and would like to read ahead.

Reading of the text is suggested, but not required to attend or benefit from this wonderful program. All are welcome!

***For those who may be interested, The Nectar of Manjushri’s Speech: A Detailed Commentary on Shantideva’s Way of the Bodhisattva, by Kunzang Pelden, is a comprehensive guide to The Way of the Bodhisattva (also known as The Bodhisattva Way of Life). Many find this to be a useful companion for greater understanding of Shantideva’s timeless verses. These books are available at Snow Lion and Amazon, among other resources.

 *FOUR MAJOR BUDDHIST HOLIDAYS (Düchen) 
Saka Dawa Düchen - Buddha Shakyamuni Attains Enlightenment 
 There are four major Special Buddha Days or “Festivals” (düchen) in a year which relate to the life of Buddha Shakyamuni.  During these days, it is said that the effects of positive or negative actions are multiplied 10 million times, so spiritual practice is strongly advised.  

 
 **Tsog or Tsok [Tibetan: tshogs, Sanskrit: Puja]

Tsog (prayers and collective food offering) on the 10th and 25th of each lunar month, Tibetan calendar. The Tibetan word ‘tsogs ‘ means ‘provisions’ or ‘accumulations’ and/or ‘feast-offering’. In this usage, it refers to the ‘two accumulations’ or provisions of merit and wisdom, which are gathered over an inestimable period of time. The fulfillment of the ‘two accumulations’ constitutes the fruition of the path to Enlightenment. The overall purpose of tsog is to distribute merit and wisdom to the participants and all sentient beings.
